Khanay Turner-Osborner, Esq, is the Executive Director of the Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute. She is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, and a proud graduate of two HBCUs, Prairie View A&M University and Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University
Attorney Khanay has always been an activist and a social engineer since her time at Prairie View A&M University and throughout law school. Prior to launching the K.Y. Turner Law Firm, Attorney Khanay had an extensive career within government and public affairs. She has served as Chief of Staff for Texas State Representative Toni Rose, Executive Director for the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, and the Political Outreach Director for the Beto O’Rourke Senatorial Campaign.
During both undergraduate and law school, Attorney Khanay has interned for Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, Congressman Marc Veasey’s campaign, National Parks Service, Wendy Davis’ gubernatorial campaign, Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Justice, and the U.S. Attorney Office of the Southern District of Texas. Attorney Khanay aspires to be the voice for the voiceless of all disenfranchised people.

Christian Guillory is a community leader and advocate dedicated to service, faith, and civic engagement across Southeast Texas. He is actively involved in the Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute, where he supports initiatives focused on civic education, leadership development, and expanding access to opportunities within underserved communities. His work reflects a strong commitment to empowering individuals through awareness, engagement, and service.
Based in Beaumont, Christian is deeply involved in local efforts that aim to strengthen communities and foster meaningful connections among individuals, organizations, and institutions. He maintains strong ties to Lamar University, where he both studied and continues to support student and community-focused initiatives. He is a graduate of Lamar University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting and a Master of Science in Public Accounting.
Christian is also highly engaged within the Catholic Church, where he actively participates in and supports efforts centered on outreach, service, and community building. His faith plays a central role in his work and serves as a guiding foundation for his commitment to others.
Known for his relational approach to leadership, Christian is driven by a belief that meaningful impact begins with service and that strong communities are built through intentional investment in people.
He resides in Southeast Texas with his wife, Hannah, and in his free time enjoys fitness, spending time with family, and pursuing initiatives that align with his passion for service and growth.
Ryon Dior Lee is a distinguished public administration professional, organizer, and advocate for community empowerment. A proud double graduate of Texas Southern University, she holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Public Policy, earned in 2024, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Pre-Law. She further enriched her academic experience through a study abroad program in Salamanca, Spain, where she studied Spanish Language and Literature.
Ms. Lee currently serves as the Greater Houston Area Field Director for Barbara Jordan Leadership Institute, where she leads strategic initiatives focused on increasing civic engagement, advancing voter education, and strengthening community outreach across underserved populations. Her work reflects a deep commitment to the fundamentals of community, with a focus on empowering individuals through access, education, and advocacy.
Since adolescence, Ryon has aspired to pursue a career in law, driven by a passion to represent and uplift underserved communities. She believes that the ultimate gift in life is to be of service and to utilize one’s fullest capacity to positively impact others.
Ryon’s career is marked by numerous achievements and recognitions. She earned the CBCI Fellow Policy Certificate from the Institute of Lobbying & Ethics and completed the Zero-L Program through Harvard Law School Online in 2024. Her dedication to service and leadership was further recognized when she was crowned Miss Juneteenth 2023 at the Mildred Johnson Juneteenth Pageant and received the Public Service & Recognition Award from the City of Houston.
A trailblazer from an early age, Ryon graduated high school at just 15 years old, becoming one of the youngest students admitted to Texas Southern University. Today, she continues to make meaningful contributions through her work in policy, advocacy, and civic leadership.
She resides in Houston, Texas, and in her leisure time, Ryon enjoys spending time with family, attending concerts, traveling, and planning initiatives that advance equity and serve communities in need.
